Mental Health professional? Learning disability professional? Join our Journal Club!
At Cawston Park we are proud to be an award-winning specialist service in mental health and learning disabilities. We strongly believe these achievements are due the hard work, dedication and effort from our teams. With that in mind, we believe in having such platforms in place to help increase knowledge and share ideas. One of which is our regular professional’s presentation platform the Journal Club.
The professional’s Journal Club at Cawston Park meets once a month on the last Thursday between 12:30 and 13:30. It is a formal learning sphere where professionals can meet and discuss research or topics of interest relevant to their profession. Its overall aim is to help develop the service we offer at Cawston Park and the knowledge and practice of the professionals who work here. Anybody is welcome to attend.
There is an annual cycle of 11 meetings which runs from January to November every year. Members are informed of the location of the meeting via email during the first two weeks of each month.
Evidence of attendance is given in the form of a certificate which can be used as part of your Continued Professional Development (CPD). Certificates are awarded to individuals who attend 5 or 10 sessions within one annual cycle. If you attend all Journal Club sessions in an annual cycle, you get additional research related memorabilia as a reward. Special Certificates are also given to any individual who delivers a presentation at Journal Club.
Are you interested in joining?
We encourage professionals in the healthcare industry to do a presentation at one of our sessions. We would also like to invite students who have no experience to be part of the presentations and bring forward their ideas.
